    Metolius is comprised of a unique collection of North American climbers who came together in the 80's to push their personal limits at Smith Rock. They shared a common passion for hard gymnastic free climbing, bouldering, and exploration in the mountains and on big walls. They decided to design and build their own equipment, much of which was unavailable at the time. From Doug’s tiny garage near the headwaters of the Metolius River (where they take their name), they've grown to a brand name synonymous with quality, safety and design excellence. 25 years later, Metolius is still committed to the climbing lifestyle, making the absolute best equipment, educating and preserving the environment in which they live and play. Metolius makes equipment across a broad range including carabiners, slings, portaledges, haul bags, cams, nuts, tricams, hangboards and other training equipment.
