Of course they say it's for backing up a rappel, but excellent for self belay on a top rope when you can't find a partner!!

Great to have for those days when everyone's at work and you fancy a bit of self-belay. Teethless, too - doesn't chew ropes.
Also indespensible if you need to do any rope work and don't want to be sliding prussiks all day long.

I use all the time to self belay on a top rope, I just brought a reserve, I love it so much(I don't recommend self belay you should always climb with a partner)
