I like the oval, use it when making top rope anchors or hauling gear,but really small opening.
Nasty, spend your money elsewhere.

I don't get how BD, makers of generally kick-arse gear keep putting out this oval. It's action is always rougher than it's main competitors, it's still got a hooked nose and a shitty gate opening.

I'd have given it one star, but I've had the displeasure of using the previous model faders oval, which in it's screwgate incarnation I swear had a gate opening of 8mm. So I gave the BD oval 2 stars for being less shit than that.

If you're saving pennies, buy kong ovals, if you've got the money, buy petzl ovals. If you're buying it as a gift for someone you don't like and will never climb with, maybe buy the BD.
