A much stiffer version of the Pontas, the Pontas Lace is a sporty outdoor shoe that performs brilliantly at edging. With the added rand rubber around the toe box, it can also be used as a more technical traditional climbing shoe.

Sole: 4.2mm TRAX® XT-5 high friction rubber.
Rand: 2.2mm TRAX® duro-rand.
Upper: Non-stretch Synthratek synthetic upper.
Lining: Cotton lining.
Midsole: MX-P: 2mm stiff, half-length midsole + 1mm full-length midsole.
Sizes: 4 to 13.5 US men.

Great shoe for slab climbing

The Evolv Pontas Lace is a really solid/sturdy climbing shoe with good sensitivity.
The lace up system is great, it's really quick to lace up these shoes when you really need to tighten the shoe on your foot.
Whilst these shoes aren't that aggressive, they provide superb edging and I've found the rubber to be very sticky and reliable
I also like the way the rubber comes over the toe of the shoe, really helps when getting your feet in cracks.
I would definitely recommend these shoes for slab climbing, as they are great for edging and more technical work, but I would not recommend them for anything overhanging.
