Way nice...19 March 2017These shorts are way nice. They look like they'd last a lifetime and they are extremely comfortable and roomy. I bought a small and I'm a 30 " waist in Patagonia gear and they are still pretty baggy; they have a triangular piece (not sure of the correct term - gusset?) sewn in to the crotch which makes constriction, even when pulling of the most insane move, non-existant. The wide elasticated soft waistband is very comfortable. The waistband has internal cotton tie cords which I'm not sure I'd ever use. The waist closes very securely with a press-stud with a cool E9 logo. The fly (YKK metal) zip is quite short. The leg cuffs have a nice soft banding which draws the leg together ever so slightly so they don't look *too* baggy. The back pocket is small and held down with a very substantial rubberised tab and velcro. There's a little loop on the side for your bouldering brush.. I would have liked maybe slightly deeper pockets and even maybe a press-stud on one pocket. Whilst of course I don't climb with my phone I do like to walk to the boulders/crag with it accessible, so need a good deep pocket for it; a press-stud would give added assurance. Also, I like walking back from the boulders/crag with my car keys in my pocket (so I don't need to unpack my climbing bag when I get to the car to get them out) so a little loop inside the pocket to attach them to would be cool. Great shorts, they look like they'd last a lifetime, very comfortable. Nice detail. I'm going to give them four stars. They'd get five if they had a little loop to attach keys to in one pocket and a press-stud on the other :-) BTW Climbing Anchor got these in the post very quickly...
Wow8 March 2017Only received these last night so haven't had a chance to wear them climbing but I'm very impressed by how rugged and substantial they are. They certainly look and feel like they'll last a LONG time. The side pockets are nice and large however the back pocket is just a TAD small. Waistband is comfy. Great fit too and true to size.
